The Fall of MacCentral; the Rise of MacDaily News

As a Mac user and a huge fan of the company, I like to know as much as I can about anything and everything related. MacCentral used to be a great site, but then MacWorld bought them out, and though their magazine might be good their website stinks. Now they've turned a great news source into a neutered, plain, advertising service fronting as a news source. Everyday its just more and more advertising and press releases about this new product or that. I've been comparing the news from these two sites and MacCentral is either a day behind or completely missing from the game.

Fortunately we have lots of Mac news websites out there and after careful review I've found MacDaily News to be the best source out there. MacObserver is alright, but not quite as pleasant.

So in speaking of mac news, the good news just keeps coming in for Apple. They had 82% of mp3 player retail sales in August and now the iPod controls over 90% of the mp3 player market in the US. Even better, iTunes still has 70% of the legal download music market - regardless of all the new competitors to the field. I guess great products and service can be picked over mediocrity.
